Magic happens when a very talented piano player by the name of Graham Muller; a hot drummer who answers to the name of Neville Jess; and a silky-smooth bass player called Camillo Lanzafarmi strike up to back South-African born Deeny Kohler-Caporale on lead vocals. Together they form Black Velvet Jazz Quartet. And they play Jazz. Hot and Strong.
Deeny is the Proprietor of the “Joie de Vivre Restaurant” in Warwick. She performs daily for her patrons who delight in her interpretation of Edith Piaf. Her backing musicians are highly professional and it is evident that not only are they experts at their trade, but also fun to be around!
Black Velvet Jazz Quartet is a dance band and they delight in their craft. Audiences will be treated to Latin Jazz, Blues and Trad Jazz peppered to keep toes tapping and hearts light and gay.
Admission is $20 for visitors and $15 for members. Refreshments are provided and there is a raffle.
Meals are available from 6:00 to 7:15pm for $15 for two courses. To book a table call the bowls club on 07 4639 2338
The gig begins at 7:45pm.
