On the day
Design your own template, with the tutor's assistance, and learn leadlight construction techniques to create it. Your finished piece will be fitted with eyelets so it can be hung in a window space. All works will be cement sealed, lead blackened and polished. If time permits, left over off-cuts will be copperfoiled and soldered to create a three sided candle-lamp.
Meet your tutor
Acclaimed glass artist Richard Apel has completed numerous public art commissions including a stained glass chapel window at Wesley Hospital in Brisbane. In 2008, Richard was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to learn centuries old German glass painting and firing techniques at the Schilling factory in Frankfurt.
