To:Sunday 04 March 2018

Location:Crows Nest Regional Art Gallery, New England Highway, Crows Nest, Qld 4355 Australia

Toowoomba-based emerging artist, Laurie Oxenford, combines a range of contemporary sculptural techniques, including painting, assemblage, recycled materials and metalwork. She comments on society’s relationship with waste, recycling and the role of material in art by using found, recycled and revived materials such as metal signs, unused building and industrial materials, ‘junk’ and various natural elements. These works document human interaction with natural Australian landscapes and explore how society is constantly changing the landscape and adapting to it simultaneously.
