Hike to Heal Scavenger Hike at Mt Peel

Hike to Heal arose from our families need to make meaning from our loss and a desire to help destigmatize mental health. In this inaugural year Hike to Heal, in conjunction with The Westbrook Focus Group Inc. and the support of Toowoomba Regional Council, will hold a Scavenger Hike between Saturday 20 – 28 of February 2021, at Mount Peel, located between Drayton and Westbrook. Groups of family, friends or work colleagues can complete the course any time during the Scavenger Hike week, creating connection and a spirit of togetherness in their group. On registration, for which there will be a nominal fee ($10/individual or $25/team of four), participants will be issued a list of clues to explore Mt Peel, solve riddles, complete photo challenges, and have fun. The time and pace of the hike is up to individual teams. There will be loads of fun and prizes to be won. Supporters are encouraged to create a team with their own unique mental health slogan, because together everyone achieves more. All profits from the event will support the Lifeline Darling Downs and South West QLD Inc’s Creative Coping Program, a 20 week skills building program designed to assist people to cope with overwhelming thoughts and emotions, reduce suffering, and make changes towards a valued life.
