Artistic Visions: A journey in watercolour features works by local watercolour artist Bruce Griffiths. Painting only from locale or memories of places previously travelled, Griffiths works reveal the natural beauty of Australia. His style combines traditional realism with impressionism to create pieces that transcend mood and atmosphere. In an eternal and almost elusive pursuit of light, Griffiths work focusses on capturing the light of early mornings and late afternoons. He is constantly seeking out the stories of his subjects and painting with his heart and emotion.
“Never paint where you have not been and never paint what you cannot feel. Your memories, your resources, nothing borrowed, nothing stolen; it must be unique in origin and style. There is a momentum, a time when all factors fall into place and the passion is almost palpable. Art will find you.” Bruce Griffiths, 2021.
